Beelzebul Biography
Beelzebul was originally formed as a solo ensemble with Beelzebul playing guitar, drums, bass as well as performing vocals. The project started in mid 2002. In this form Beelzebul has released various demos, and most recently the Death of World Systems and Antinihilist EP's The project is now forming into a touring act. The main format for the band involves the members switching instruments regularly Beelzebul - guitars and drums / comic book sketching and storyline Andy - drums and guitars Eric - vocals and samples Ari - guitars and bass / comic book digitizing and coloring Zach - guitar and, bass / comic book inking and digitizing The band and Graphic Novel series Beelzebul bear their namesake out of the Antinihilst traditions of liberation theology, Gnosticism, Buddhism, Sufism and most importantly Friedrich Nietzsche. The most important value of the Beelzebul Antinihilism tradition is compassion and the destruction of ones inner enemies. Inner enemies come in many varities but they are most notably, voluptuousness, vengeance and passion to rule others. The graphic novel focuses on a sci-fi universe where galactical criminals must be constantly battled. In the graphic novel their are the strong and powerful figures of peace and order in a quest to harmonize other parts of the universe, unfortunately their is constant battle with the forces of malevolence and indignance--weak and valueless. The musician Beelzebul, whom the band is led by, is not unlike a strong example of imitatio Christi. The man whom the weaker, baser and more vile people called Beelzebul. These people who judged others before they judged themselves were known as Pharisees, and were sociopathic in there masking there own guilt for there passion to rule others, vengeance and greed. The Antinihilist perfects himself before he perfects his family, perfects his family then his town, his state and then his country, until it reaches the world and beyond. |
